Spectral radiative properties of glass samples

Abstract. Spectral radiative properties of commercial clear glass are obtained such as the index of refraction and the absorption coefficient, in the visible and near-infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Two methods are examined. The first is performed with transmittance and reflectance measurements and the second with transmittances of samples with different thicknesses. The complete setup as well as some experimental results for the first method are presented and discussed.
