Abstract. Causes of methodological error in the study of surface tension of binary mixtures are considered. A method of describing surface tension of solutions of nonassociated liquids is proposed. Analyses of the reliability of published data on the temperature - concentration dependence of surface tension for binary refrigerant mixtures R125/R134a, R125/R143a, R143a/R134a, R32/R125, and R32/R134a are made. Coefficients of equations for calculating the surface tension of refrigerant mixtures in the whole region of the liquid phase are obtained.
