Abstract. The dynamic viscosity, h, of the binary mixture 2,2,4,4,6,8,8-heptamethylnonane + tridecane was measured in the temperature range 293.15 - 353.15 K (in progressive steps of 10 K) at pressures 0.1, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 MPa. The system is described by nine molar fractions (0 to 1 in progressive steps of 0.125). The density, r, has been measured at pressures from 0.1 to 65 MPa in progressive steps of 5 MPa. The whole set of experimental data represents 378 points for the dynamic viscosity (84 for the pure compounds and 294 for the mixtures) and 882 for density. The measurements of h allow the determination of the excess viscosity, hE, and the excess activation energy of flow, DGE, versus pressure, temperature, and composition. Some models have been used in order to represent the viscosity of this binary mixture.
